Let’s start from the beginning, I was homeschooled almost all of my life and spent my childhood growing up in musical theater, singing in a gospel choir, performing in multiple showcases and competing in numerous vocal competitions. I was a child actor, in SAG and AFTRA and I did a handful of commercials, even a Mary Kate and Ashley Olson movie. Theater opened my eyes to my intense desire to perform, loving the crowds and stage, leaving all insecurities behind and creating my own world behind the spotlight, in this realization, I discovered my purpose in life; to entertain. I began recording at the age of fourteen (with multi-platinum producer and friend Kenny Mccloud of Blackhole productions) and it was then that my passion for singing really transpired.
My love for songwriting (also creative writing courses in college helped attribute to my passion with lyrics) and my ability with the technical aspects of audio have set up what will hopefully be a long lasting career in the entertainment industry. Many of you may not know this, but I’m certified in Radio Production with a certificate from Pasadena city college (PCC), also a few short classes away from an AA in Telecommunications. Alongside my music endeavors and full time student obligations, I also juggled my modeling career, in which I found my love for the camera and the runway, as well as fashion.
Modeling for Ed hardy’s catalogue and online website (also SMET) later led to an Ed hardy runway show which was my very first runway experience. I later went on do to various other runway shows and modeling events (from the DUB show with 50 cent, extreme fighting world championship promotional modeling and NHRA modeling to formal gown modeling and way too many runway shows to list.)
During pursuing my modeling career, I discovered another side to the prism that is Katrina; my love of design. I then added more to my juggling act, and enrolled in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and clothing construction classes. I began distressing, bleaching, dying and embellishing my own jeans as well as sewing bikinis and clubbing gear. This then led into finalizing legalities to own my own line called “Pairadice Threads” ….why that name? Investing in any business is a gamble so I wanted to incorporate the gambling aspect into the label, and I also wanted my clothing to steer you away, if only momentarily, from reality, thus the word paradise came to mind. Then furthering the dynamics of the gambling infusion I played on words and came up with “Pairadice.” I've also worked at playboy radio and I'm certified in radio production.
So…..What is it exactly that I do? How can you categorize me? Well, if you must, let me sum it up for you…..I’m a Singer/ Model/ Actress / clothing line owner / Student /…….I’m sure I will add more to this list!!!
